I just helped a good friend and talented Bend artist, Ingrid Lustig, get her website going. Ingrid does very colorful, spiritual paintings of wild creatures, and also translates some of her work into prints (one of my favorite mediums).

More and more, I’ve been shunning custom websites for sites based on WordPress templates. Ingrid’s new site uses a very inexpensive template geared towards portfolios, and has a fairly easy user interface. Once I got her site set up and the main pages fleshed out, she was able to add more content on her own. So check it out at www.ingridlustig.com.

I just finished editing a very cool position paper for Jim Boedecker, who is helping spearhead a new initiative called the Central Oregon Enterprise Accelerator. This was a challenge to edit, as I had to wrap my brain around the issue of new venture development and become familiar with the various resources (local and regional) dedicated to helping start-up companies grow and secure capital. This job required quick turnaround, as the Accelerator program is going to be announced at the upcoming Bend Venture Conference (October 15-16, 2011). I wish Jim and his colleagues the best of luck…Bend’s economy needs all the help it can get, and I’m excited to see what kinds of businesses benefit from this collaboration.

I’ve developed a new respect for billboards in the last year. For long-term branding and broad exposure, billboards are a great tool. I have a couple billboards that I’ve designed up in Bend right now. FivePine Lodge (a client of Zonni Media) has been strategically placing their billboard around town, usually along the parkway leading to Sisters. And my own client, Albertazzi Law Firm, has a great spot on Third Street near Reed Market Road. We’ve kept the same location, but rotated the message. The Albertazzi board will feature a new message October 1. Albertazzi has had lots of positive comments on their boards so far, and I think the new one will also catch some notice.

I’m excited to be working with Zonni Media on the branding and ad campaigns for High Lakes Health Care, an up and coming group with a great approach to patient care. My involvement started with the ads announcing their downtown office’s move to a big, new space in Bend’s Upper Mill, as well as interior signage and business cards. I’ve also been working on ads introducing several of their new physicians, and I’m putting the finishing touches on a long-term print campaign on their patient-centric approach. High Lakes Health Care is owned by Praxis, and I am also busy developing campaigns with Zonni Media for several other Bend and Redmond-based Praxis groups, such as Women’s Center and Advanced Specialty Care.
